Hey~ So what's happenin', people? ..Not much? ..Right. Of course. Nothing good ever happens anymore.
So anyway, this isn't completely "Random Facts 2", because I'll be regular-blogging about Sleep aswell, but thats ok. I can still name it that, lol.
So. . .
Sleeping Positions
Did you know, that you can tell alot about a person's personality, just by the position they sleep in? So how do you sleep? What's your position? Whether by chance, or choice, it will tell you about your personality, and can have some pretty surprising results. So here's some sleeping positions, see which one you sleep in?
1) The Fetal Position
By far, the most common sleeping position, fetal-position sleepers are generally tough on the outside, but generous, and soft on the inside- They're usually shy when they first meet someone new, but soon will open up and relax.
Fun Fact 1: Twice as many women as men, sleep in this position
-Also, for this position. The position you are in for 9 months, before you are born. Now of course you will not have remembered that, because you weren't even born yet, nor did you have an 'official' state-of-mind. But that must've been comortable, 95%-sure why, you sleep in this position more often than others. Because it gives you the comfort of being safely kept away and protected, in your mother's womb.
2) The Log
Those who lye on their sides, with both arms down straight, are generally social, outgoing, and enjoy being part of the in-crowd. "Logs" are very-trusting of strangers, but are quite often characterized as gullible/naive. This is the 2nd most-popular position.
3) The Yearner
Yearners' sleep on their sides, with both arms stretched out infront of them. They are said to have an open-nature, but tend to be slightly suspicious and cynical. It takes them awhile to make up their minds, but once they decide on something, they rarely waver.
4) The Soldier
If you sleep on your back, with both arms pinned at your sides, chances are, you are quiet and reserved. You don't like to make a fuss, but do set high standards for yourself and others.
Not-So-Fun-Fact 1: "Soldier"-sleepers are more likely to snore, and usually have nightmares/bad dreams, aswell as a flat-out, bad-night's-sleep.
5) The Freefall
Brace yourself~ People who sleep on their stomachs, with their hands up around their head, can come off as brash and unreserved, but are really a little nervy, and thin-skinned underneath. Freefalls don't like criticism or extreme situations.
Fun Fact 2: Sleeping like this is good for digestion.
6) The Starfish
If you lye on your back, with both arms up on your pillow [around your head], you are always ready to listen and often offer help where/when needed. Starfish sleepers generally make good-friends, but tend to dislike being the centre of attention.
Not-So-Fun-Fact 2: This typically leads to snoring, and a restless sleep.

The average person requires 7-8 hours of sleep. Some can get by with just 6, while others can't get through the day without 9-10.
Over the past century, Americans' sleep-time as decreased by 20%. And televisions, computers, and other electronics [TV and Computers being the main ones] are the cause of this.
Did you know this? Many Americans' are sleep-deprived~
- 50% report sleepiness on the job interferes with the amount of work they accomplish.
- 40% of workers say they have trouble staying awake on the job
- 69% of American/Canadian adults experience frequent sleep problems.
- 80% of resondents say more sleep would benefit the overall health, safety and well-being.
- Over 50% of all Americans', reported to have driven while drowsy over the past year, and nearyly 20% have claimed to have dozed off while driving.
- 100,000 auto-incidents occur each year because of fall-asleep-crashes.

10 Cool Sleep-Facts You Might Like To Know
1) Its impossible to tell if someone is asleep, because you can take catnaps with your eyes open and never even realize it.
2) Dreams, once thought to only be able to occur during REM stages of sleep, can actually happen (Just not as much) during non-REM stages of sleep- therefore, it is possible that there might not be a single moment of sleep, when we are actually "dreamless" .
3) REM dreams are characterized by bizarre plots, but non-REM dreams are repetitive, and thought-like, with little imagery- obessively returning to a suspicion you left your cellphone somewhere, for example.
4) Humans sleep on average, 3 hours less than other primates, such as chimps, rhesus monkeys, squirrel monkeys, and baboons, all of which whom sleep for 10 hours.
5) Ducks at risk of attack by predators, are able to balance the need for sleep and survival, by keeping one half of the brain awake and alert, while the other half slips into sleep-mode.
6) The "Natural Alarm Clock" which enables some people to make up more or less than wanted, is caused by a burst of the stress hormone, adrenocorticotropin. Researchers say this reflects an unconscious anticipation of the stress of waking up.
7) Elephants sleep standing up during non-REM sleep, but lye down for REM sleep.
8) Tiny luminous rays from an alarm clock can be enough to disrupt the sleep-cycle even if you do not fully awaken. The light turns off a 'neutral switch' in the brain, causing levels of a key sleep chemical decline within minutes. [Yes, true, I heard this on a few shows about 2 years ago]
9) The record for the longest period without sleep is -18 days, 21 hours, and 40 minutes- during a rocking-chair marathon. The record holder reported hallucinations, paranoia, blurred vision, slurred speech, and memory and concentration lapses.
10) Have you heard of 'sexsomnia synrom' ? Well, its a condition completely distinct from sleepwalking and is a form of a sleep disorder called "REM Behavioral Disorder". The condition can range in severity from disruptive moaning to unwanted, and sometimes violent, sexual advances their partners~ !!!

SleepWalking Facts
Sleepwalking - Explanations
There is a 'sleep centre' in the brain, which controls the sleeping and waking of the body. When you sleep, the sleep centre blocks off a part of the brain, preventing you from moving or walking while asleep. Generally, the sleep centre and the body, is/are connected, but sometimes is can separate. Under such conditions, while the brain goes to sleep, your body remains awake. The people suffering from this condition sit up in their sleep, or stand near the bed. Some even go for a stroll, but do not usually remember this incident later.
[Ok, this has, many times happened to me before, but the 'sits up in bed or stands near it' just sounds completely creepy.. >.> ......<.< ...]
Fact: A full bladder will often cause a person to sleepwalk, hence, you should avoid drinking before bed.
Main Facts:
1) When a person begins sleepwalking at very-early-age (Such as, Toddler-Years), the disorder disappears as they grow older. If a child begins sleepwalking at a very young age (perhaps 3-7), then it will most likely 'disappear' by the age of 13. However- if a child doesn't begin sleepwalking until about the age of 9/10, it will generally continue through adulthood.
2) Boys are more prone to sleepwalking than girls are. [Not fair!!]
3) The sleepwalking starts about an hour and a half after the person has gone to sleep.
WARNING: DO NOT EVER DISRUPT, OR TRY TO WAKE A SLEEPWALKER! AS IT MAY FRIGHTEN THEM, AND CAN LEAD TO MAJORLY VIOLENT ISSUES!!
But do try, if they're not completely 'wobbly', or their eyes are not open, but very dark, to walk them back to their beds, or guide them there.
Btw: Did you know, that someone who is sleeptalking- will last anywhere from a few seconds, to a half hour? And, you can hold a full conversation with them. Also a good prank to play, as to finding out some interesting information. But generally, sleeptalkers will mumble or, sometimes, speak clearly- random useless things. Even things that make no sense whatsoever. For an example, a girl saying,
"..No, the fish ate your sandwich" ..... Now thats random. But it does happen~ This is what happens during REM sleep, by the way, as I stated before, REM is created by bizarre plots, and thoughts as you sleep. Such as, a fish eating someone's sandwich, for example. 0.o
1) I have a past of sleepwalking. Started for me, around the age of 11. So therefore, I can still sleepwalk! Some people completely dislike this idea, but I honestly think sleepwalking is so cool, and I love it when I find out I have been sleepwalking. At my previous house, I would often wake up, in the bathroom- [Hence- "A full bladder will often trigger the phase of sleepwalking"] But I never minded. Once, I nearly went downstairs to make some toast! But just as I was about to step onto the first step down, I woke up. "......Huh?! ..What am I doing out h- ...Ohhh..Sleepwalking.. =) .."
2) My sleeping position is usually the "Fetal" and moreso, the "Yearner" position. Yes, I am very indecisive, I'm a very suspicious person to be around ; ) , and I am generally cynical or evil about things. Though don't get me wrong, I'm a very caring person!! I'm just a violent, 'evil' teen. However, I would only hurt someone, such as a murder, in games. So don't worry! You're safe! =D -And once I make up my mind [after about.. 7 hours ---> 1 MONTH], I almost never change my mind again. ^.^
Anyway, just thought I'd share this cool stuff with you. Let me know your sleeping positions, etc. Do you sleepwalk ???
X
Kiana
